Some Spyware programs can prevent you from installingcommon Anti Spyware Programs used to remove threats. Several options to get around this problem are listed below.
The following options shows Malwarebytes as the example but the options work with other popular programs.
Option 1: Before saving any of your security programs, rename them first.
Click on the download link for Anti Spyware program so the Save dialog opens. Change file name to something different from the default and click Save. For example, before you save Malwarebytes Anti-malware, rename mbam-setup.exe to something like mapp.exe and then click Save. Once the file has Downloaded try to run it.
Option 2: Change the security program installation file extension.
First turn on “show file extensions for known file types”.
1. Double-click on the My Computer icon.
2. Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
3. After the new window appears select the View tab.
4. Put a check mark in the check box labeled Display the contents of system folders.
5. Remove the check mark from the check box labeled Hide file extensions for known file types.
6. Press the Apply button and then the OK button.
7. Now your computer is configured to show file extensions for known file types.
Right-click on a installation file (the mbam-setup.exe file for Malwarebytes Anti-malware) and change the .exe extension to .bat, .com, .pif, or .scr. Press Enter and then double-click on it to run.
